This book introduces and expands on the feminist strategy of "norm transfer," which suggests that feminist-informed standards established in international criminal law can be implemented domestically. Focusing on the International Criminal Court (ICC), it argues for open dialogue and discussion regarding contested aspects of international norms, rather than unquestioned acceptance. Using the crime of rape as a case study, the book offers a fresh perspective on the contentious issue of consent and coercion in the definition of rape within international and domestic criminal legal feminism. The analysis of the ICC's definition reveals a flaw in the omission of explicit consent as a key element. To address this, the book proposes revisions to the ICC's definition of rape and its Rules of Procedure and Evidence, providing draft legislative amendments. Additionally, it suggests amendments to the United Kingdom's Sexual Offences Act 2003 and the Youth Justice and Criminal Evidence Act 1999, demonstrating the practical application of the revised ICC definition in the UK context.
